Our Training Competencies
At Kings Security Systems, our training approach prioritises both safety and competency. Each of our Engineers is multi-disciplined and adept in working with a variety of systems, products, and manufacturers, but working safely will always be our highest priority.
We go above and beyond to equip our engineers with the skills needed to stay safe and work responsibly. When a new engineer joins our team, they are enrolled onto a variety of comprehensive health and safety courses/schemes, including:
- Safety Pass Alliance (SPA) Passport. This is a 2 day UKPIA course that teaches engineers how to recognise and respond to a multitude of common hazards, including the risks of working on petrol filling stations, which present unique safety challenges.
- International Powered Access Federation (IPAF). This course prepares engineers for using MEWPs (Mobile Elevated Working Platforms) such as scissor lifts and cherry pickers) to work at heights.
- Asbestos Awareness. It is estimated that 1.5 million UK buildings still contain asbestos, making asbestos awareness training a potentially life-saving resource for our engineers and customers.
On top of these, our engineers are also given day-to-day manual handling, working at heights and ladder safety training. We also cover several other courses for engineers where required, such as:
- AC200
- CEM
- Comelit
- Commend
- HIK Central
- Milestone
- Openpath
- Pacom
- Pasma
- Tavcom – CCTV over IP
- Waterstore
Our Project Managers undergo even more intensive health and safety training because they are ultimately responsible for managing health and safety over the duration of a project. Our project managers complete a Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) course, which is a 5 day course covering CDM Regulations, risk assessments, method statements, electricity, evacuation, demolition and confined spaces training, to fully prepare them for their role.
All of our safety training regimes are closely managed by our Compliance team to ensure they are fully up to date.
