How We Shape the Industry
A Focus on System Standards
For many years Lee Kerry, our Head of Technical Services, has been an active member of BSIA committees, with a particular focus on Security Systems and Video Surveillance Systems. His involvement ensures KST has a voice in how system standards are structured and developed and this, in turn, allows KST to remain adherent to its accreditations and delivery of compliant systems. Thanks to Lee’s participation, KST has an input in to how standards are developed and kept up to date in line with new technology, whilst retaining compliance.
Lee has also held the position of NSI North East region Vice Chair (Technical) since 2019. The Vice Chair Committee has a cross section of members that also form part of the technical committees within BSIA, providing a collaboration of industry leaders working together across BSIA and NSI, forming industry standards in line with auditing processes and procedures.
FASQUAL - Verifying Contractors to Industry Standards
Our COO, Darren Gamage is a key member of the FASQUAL committee. This BSIA and FIA initiative is to create an independent, centralised UK national database that holds qualifications, skills, experience, and vetting information on contractors operating in the electronic fire & security sector.
It will be a scheme where the focus is on de-risking the question of competence and qualification of individuals and building a history / trust profile between contractors and their employers.
Protecting Local Business
Since April 2018, Kings has acted as a dedicated point of contact between public and private sectors as well as handling the day-to-day activity of the CSSC Counter-Terrorism Policing initiative. The CSSC has been supported by Kings through the co-hosting of regional Counter-Terrorism Events promoted through the successful North East & Yorkshire CSSC network.
